Live Audio is Just Getting Started

Fourth-four percent of marketers plan to use live audio chat rooms for the first time this year (according to a report from HubSpot Blog Research). That same report also found that 15% of marketers plan to reduce their Clubhouse investment.

I admit that I was an avid Clubhouse user in early 2021 and even hosted chats for marketers in the financial services space at the peak of Clubhouse’s growth, but the chats (along with the app itself) quickly fizzled out and now, when I see notifications on my phone for Clubhouse, I am reminded I still have the app on my phone and why I hated most things about it; but that is a post for another time.

The Twitter Spaces concept (obviously with learnings from Clubhouse) allows taping and scheduling, more event hosts, and easier organic discovery. Other options for live video / audio content include Instagram Live rooms and LinkedIn’s future audio and live options.

It remains to be seem if these audio content pillars will remain or fizzle out across the board.

Audio is versatile and allows for unique content to be used in a number of different ways; I believe this is just the beginning.
