URBANDALE, Iowa (August 7, 2018) -- Democratic Sen. Jeff Danielson of Eastern Iowa is throwing his support behind Independent candidate Richard Dedor. Dedor is running for Iowa House District 19, which includes Dallas Center, Adel, Redfield, Van Meter, Polk City, Dexter, De Soto and Urbandale (Dallas County).
“I am endorsing Richard because he's a problem solver who puts people before politics,” Danielson says. “He is my friend and I know he will work across party lines to better the lives of Iowans because of our membership in No Labels. He speaks for frustrated Independent voters all across Iowa who feel their voice is not being heard.”
Danielson is a four-term senator serving District 30 on the Eastern side of the state. He is also the vice chair of the Senate Education Appropriations Committee. Danielson says one of the many things both he and Dedor see eye-to-eye on is the budget.
“I have to sit down with Iowans to help determine my priorities; which include seeking reform to sales, income and property taxes, pushing for an increase to the state’s minimum wage, and reduce burdensome regulations for those seeking to enter a licensed profession. I will also take steps to ensure Iowa is positioned well for today's economic needs and tomorrow's growth,” Dedor says.
This endorsement is a sign Iowans are ready for leadership across party lines, ready to hear real solutions, and ready for an economy that works for everyone.
