KCCI: Islamic and Cultural Center breaks ground on multimillion-dollar mosque
A multimillion-dollar mosque is making moves in Granger. The Islamic and Cultural Center Bosniak will break ground on the project later this month. Elvedin Sivac, president of the Islamic and Cultural Center Bosniak of Des Moines said he is spearheading the project because the center's current location on Lower Beaver Road in Des Moines is running out of space. The new mosque in Granger will be a nearly 17,000-square-foot facility and will the first of it's kind in the state of Iowa.
This is an incredibly exciting addition to our community and our district. It is no secret that as our community grows, our diversity grows with it and we will be a stronger community with this great addition.
