This Week’s Lesson
Attitudes are contagious! Is yours worth catching?
-Mackenzie M’s life lesson from Minneapolis, Kansas
Richard’s Thoughts…
This week’s lesson comes from Mackenzie and hits the nail right on the head. Last week I was sick with yet another head-cold and spent most of Sunday on the couch. But in that sickness, I found energy. While I hate taking time off, the cold told me I needed to slow down and reassess my energy usage. That is a fancy way of saying that I need to check my priorities.
Since then, I am back to painting and reading and while I have a ton of things on my list, my attitude is back in check. Our attitude is one of the few things we can control in our day. We can’t control if our car breaks down or if someone turns in a report late; but we can control our reaction.
Attitudes, good and bad can make and break someone’s day. So, please, for the sake of those around you, be sure to check yours at the door this week. Take a deep breath, exhale, and make sure your attitude is one of positive energy so that others will be excited to catch it!

This one is the toughest one for me to answer. Obviously Denver would be near the top of my list. For as long as I am alive, Denver and the mountains will not only be a place of peace but also a place of inspiration. I know I will continue to return.
I could answer this based on a time of day, or take the easy way out and say that I am most inspired when I am in Denver, Colo. That would be my choice.
My life has been a roller coaster of ups and downs, but that’s the joy in the journey. There are a lot of things that offer inspiration for me. I’ve always been uplifted by birds chirping, by anything athletic, by reading a good book and by watching squirrels.
