FOCUS: Learn to Say No!

Selected Life Lesson
Don’t over commit yourself. Learn to say no.

Richard’s Thoughts…
All of us, at one time or another, has said “yes” when a “no” would have been a much smarter answer. But it is hard when someone comes to us and asks for help to say no. It is especially hard when it is a friend asking you for that help.

If you know just a few things about me, one of them probably is that I love to be involved and I love to help. But saying “no” is not a pronouncement on the importance of the work or the request, it is just a result of an already-busy life. And it is okay for you to say no.

Having the ability and being willing to control your own time is a very powerful thing. When you do, you give yourself the ability (and the right) to control more of your day and give all your energy to the few things you do say yes to. Think about your life right now, what do you want to say yes to and what do you want to say no to? It’s your life and you get to control it!
